CoreTrace Article Sample
CoreTrace (CT): Why are people looking for alternatives to antivirus in the first place?
Eric Ogren (EO): It really comes down to the fact that antivirus doesn’t catch nearly enough attacks. When you look at the numbers that show even the top security products catch anywhere from 30 to 70 percent of attacks that have been around for a week, you quickly realize that they’re just not effective against new attacks. When you look more closely you see that antivirus is a very inefficient approach to controlling malware. The real value of antivirus is cleaning, not preventing.
