The worldwide mobile device management (MDM) enterprise market will grow by a compound annual growth rate of 7.6% over the next five years to reach $382.7 million in revenue by 2014, according to IDC. The increasing acceptance of individual-liable devices in the enterprise will continue to be an important driver of activity in the mobile device management market due to the increased number of mobile operating systems that IT will have to support as well as the added security risks these devices can present. In addition to driving revenue in the market, the individual-liable device model will compel vendors that target the smartphone market to build functionality that allows for greater capabilities around application management as well as more granular control of the device.

The following questions were posed by Absolute Software to Stephen Drake, program vice president of IDC’s Mobility and Telecom research, on behalf of Absolute Software’s customers.
