Based on a long history of collaboration, HP entered a joint technology arrangement with LSI in late 2008 to enhance their Storage Virtualization Manager (SVM) under the product name HP StorageWorks SAN Virtualization Services Platform (SVSP.) The HP version integrates seamlessly with the rest of the HP storage portfolio. With an innovative split-path architecture, the network-based platform enables storage management across HP as well as non- HP arrays using a centralized interface. It matches the management paradigm of the current HP StorageWorks EVA Command View interface and shares in its standard-setting ease of use.

The platform’s features and benefits are especially suited to the midrange customer seeking to use virtualization and thin provisioning for better resource control, less administration and overall cost reductions.
