Far from the days when records were relegated to dusty file cabinets and captured on fragile microfiche, today the County of San Bernardino uses state-of-the-art scanning, recording and document management systems to quickly process and immediately make all legally recorded documents available over a secure intranet with index data available over the Internet. Today, with a click of the mouse, clerks, constituents, lenders and insurance companies can quickly locate documents needed to conduct their business.

To support the continued growth of its electronic document services, the County of San Bernardino required a highly scalable storage system that could keep pace with the growing popularity of its services. In addition, as the county has expanded its services, and worked diligently to keep pace with the high degree of property sales and financings, the Auditor-Controller’s Information Technology Department encountered difficulties with its legacy storage products that initiated a project to streamline and accelerate its operations.
