Bit9 FileAdvisor

from Bit9

Summary:
Windows Task Manager often lists weird process names startup programs in MSCONFIG can also be cryptic. When something goes wrong, those peculiar names can start to seem sinister, evil, and threatening. Before you start wildly deleting files, try checking them with Bit9`s FileAdvisor. Its database can identify millions of valid files and tell you exactly where they came from. Note: this isn`t an app meant to identify malware if it can`t ID a file it might be a bad one, or it simply might not be in the database. Still, FileAdvisor is free to use (though you must register in order to access all of its features), so it`s worth a look.
