Summary: It`s been a busy few months for America Online. In June, the company unveiled AIM Mail, a free Web-based e-mail service offering 2GB of storage to AOL Instant Messenger users. Now AOL has rolled out a new version of AIM itself, officially dubbed AIM Trition, which serves as the gateway to AIM Mail, AOL Explorer, and other new services. Triton not only helps AOL compete more effectively against the likes of MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger, it also reflects the company`s new strategy of offering robust services to non-subscribers.
