AIM 6.0
from America Online (AOL)
Summary:
Millions of people use version 5.9 of the client that started instant messaging, and at least some of them should prepare for a shock: For fans of AOL Instant Messenger who upgrade to Microsoft Windows Vista, the new version 6.0 will be the only AIM game in town—none of the old versions of the app are compatible. The new client looks dramatically different from its predecessor. Prepare for a lot of glitz, a pile of new features mostly oriented toward social networking, and built-in hooks that will let you effortlessly shuttle among IM and other properties and pages that AOL runs. Those who`ve been using the Triton client will notice far less difference, though—its code and architecture form the base of the new AIM client.
