Symantec Hosted Services White Paper Sample
Effective security ultimately depends on the actions of users. Companies that make investments in the latest security tools and services are still vulnerable without clear policies that define the acceptable use of company resources.
Some may be very simple. For example, a policy may tell users not to write passwords and affix them to monitors. Some may be more complex, such as those policies that require the use of specific company-approved software for communication, or rules that determine the length, complexity and duration of passwords.
Security tools and services can monitor any number of policies, flag compromising or illicit activity, and in many cases implement actions when policies are broken. The tools do the work, but policies set the stage.
